Kaede Takagaki Version 2
Boxopening & Review
Another Dollfie Dream Joins the Collection: Kaede Takagaki from the Idolmaster Series
This Christmas, I received something truly special under the tree: Dollfie Dream Kaede Takagaki. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know that she’s been on my wishlist for ages. However, it just never worked out – until now! Thanks to her recent Version 2 release, the chances of getting her at a reasonable price were much better. And the best part? She comes with the new DD Base Body 2.0 (DD-f³)!
The Doll
Kaede was re-released this year (2024) with a brand-new outfit, different from her original release in 2018. The occasion? Volks’ 20th anniversary, where fans and customers could vote on dolls they wanted to see reintroduced. The result? Kaede made her grand return, much to the delight of those who missed out the first time!
Face-up & Head
Her head is definitely one of my all-time favorites! I adore the shape, especially her sweet and slightly playful mouth.
The face-up for this version is nearly identical to the 2018 release. The only noticeable difference is her eyebrows, which are slightly thicker, giving her a more defined look.t.
2.0 DD-F3 Body
As mentioned earlier, Kaede Takagaki arrived with Volks’ new DD-F3 body, and I have to say, I’m thoroughly impressed. I didn’t expect the difference to be so noticeable, but from the moment I unpacked her, it was clear. The movements feel much smoother right out of the box.
When posing her for photos, I found it significantly easier compared to older body types. The added range of motion, especially in the chest and torso area, allows for much more dynamic and natural poses. I’m excited to continue experimenting with her and see just how far I can push her versatility!
Outfit
Kaede’s outfit is simply stunning! It’s beautifully crafted from various fabrics, giving it a high-quality feel. The intricate ruffles and details add so much texture and depth to the dress. Even though it’s not my absolute favorite Dollfie outfit, I have to admit it feels amazing and was surprisingly easy to put on – no fiddling required this time!
That said, there is one small drawback: the two large flowers at the bottom of the dress. On the promo photos, they look perfect, but in real life, they sadly droop a bit due to their weight. Hopefully, I can find a way to fix this.
Alles in Allem
I’m beyond thrilled to welcome Kaede into my collection! Her character is simply delightful, but as with most of my dolls, I’ll probably “convert” her into one of my original characters. In the coming days, I’ll be trying out new eyes and wigs – I can’t wait to see how she transforms!
