How to Measure your doll head

And determine the right wig size

Hi everyone! Today, I’ll show you how to determine the right wig size for your doll. Properly fitting wigs can significantly enhance your doll’s appearance. Let’s get started!

Understanding Wig Sizes

Doll wigs are typically described in inches, such as 8-9”. This means dolls with a head circumference of 8-9” (approximately 20.32 to 22.86 cm) can wear the wig. The 8-9” size is common for SD-sized dolls (around 60 cm), including Dollfie Dream, BJDs, Pullips, and many others.

Finding the Correct Wig Size

The easiest way to find the correct wig size is to check the company site of your doll. They often list the wig size in the description. If this information isn’t available, you can measure the doll’s head yourself.

How to Measure

  1. Get a Measuring Tape: Use a flexible measuring tape.
  2. Measure the Circumference: Wrap the tape around the head where the wig would sit, starting at the forehead and wrapping it around the back of the head. And thats how you measure the circumference.
  3. Check the Measurement: Compare the measurement to the wig sizes available. For example, a measurement of 8-9” means an 8-9” wig will fit perfectly.

Prevent stains

Wig caps act like a protective barrier. Here’s how to use them:

  1. Put on the Wig Cap: Place the wig cap on your doll’s head.
  2. Position the Wig: Place the wig on top of the wig cap.
  3. Check the Fit: Ensure the wig cap covers the head completely, so the wig doesn’t directly touch the vinyl.
